“Mindhorn” screenwriters Simon Farnaby and Julian Barratt have been nominated in the new Debut Screenwriter category at the 2016 British Independent Film Awards. The Pinewood Pictures financed film was amongst 32 British features selected from 130 submissions.
Julian Barratt, from “The Mighty Boosh” plays a washed-up actor given the opportunity to redeem himself and his career by reprising his iconic television role – Detective Mindhorn, a sleuth with a robotic truth-telling eye – to catch a deranged killer at loose on the Isle of Man.
Directed by Sean Foley and written by Julian Barratt and Simon Farnaby, “Mindhorn” also stars Essie Davis, Richard McCabe and Steve Coogan.
The winners will be announced on 4th December at the BIFAs ceremony at Old Billingsgate in London.
